Aram Hakobyan Wins Armenian Rapid Chess Championship

The Armenian Rapid Chess Championship, organized by the Armenian Chess Federation in memory of Ashot Anastasian, took place at the Armenian Chess Academy. Grandmaster Aram Hakobyan emerged as the champion, scoring 6 points out of a possible 7.

Grandmasters Shant Sargsyan, Zaven Andriasian, Hayk Martirosyan, and International Master Robert Piliposyan each scored 5.5 points. Based on tiebreaks, Shant Sargsyan secured the runner-up position, while Zaven Andriasian completed the top three.

Robert Piliposyan placed fourth, and Hayk Martirosyan came in fifth.

Among the veterans, International Master Ashot Nadanian achieved the best result. In the women’s category, Women’s International Master Susanna Gaboyan stood out, while Candidate Master Volodya Torosyan excelled among players under 16.

This tournament once again demonstrated the high level and competitiveness of Armenian chess players.
