Armenia’s government has announced that the 2025 procurement of anthrax vaccines will be carried out through a direct purchase from the Russian Federal Center for Animal Health (FGBI ARRIAH). The decision was approved during the cabinet session on December 5, with a total allocation of 605,693,283 AMD, including VAT and associated logistical costs.
The Federal Center for Animal Health offered a base price of 143.63 AMD per milliliter (100 ml per dose, 50 doses). With the inclusion of VAT, the final price per milliliter will rise to approximately 172.4 AMD. To meet the required supply of 3,496,300 ml of vaccines, the total procurement cost amounts to 602,608,283 AMD, excluding additional expenses such as transportation, insurance, and labor.
These extra logistical expenses, including 3 million AMD for insurance, 40,000 AMD for transportation, and 45,000 AMD for labor, bring the total cost to just over 605 million AMD.
By opting for direct procurement from the manufacturer, the Armenian government ensures a favorable price compared to previous years, when vaccines were purchased through intermediary organizations. This move underscores the government’s commitment to cost-effective and efficient sourcing for critical public health needs.
The Russian manufacturer FGBI ARRIAH will serve as the sole supplier for Armenia’s Ministry of Economy, ensuring the availability of vaccines to protect livestock and public health against anthrax in 2025. This decision highlights Armenia’s ongoing efforts to secure high-quality veterinary vaccines at competitive prices, strengthening its animal health protection framework.
