The Armenian Chess Federation reports that Armenia will be represented by 20 players at the 2024 European Individual Chess Championship. The championship will take place from November 7 to 20 in Petrovac, Montenegro.
This year’s championship includes 395 players from 42 countries. The Armenian team consists of 20 chess players, many of whom are among the country’s top-rated masters, carrying international and national titles in chess.
Notable team members include Grandmasters Hayk Martirosyan, Shant Sargsyan, Gabriel Sargsyan, Aram Hakobyan, and other prominent Armenian players. The first round of the competition is set to begin on November 8 at 18:00 Yerevan time.
Armenia’s participation in the European Championship is a significant step, providing competitive exposure for Armenian chess players and strengthening Armenia’s presence on the international chess stage.
