Armenian chess players continue to perform strongly at the 2024 European Individual Chess Championship, with only three rounds remaining in the tournament.

After the eighth round, Serbian Grandmaster Aleksandar Indjic leads the competition with 7 points, standing as the sole leader. Among his closest challengers are Armenian Grandmasters Robert Hovhannisyan, Manuel Petrosyan, and Aram Hakobyan, who each have 6 points.

FIDE Master Erik Gasparyan and Grandmaster Emin Ohanyan follow with 5.5 points, while Grandmasters Shant Sargsyan, Gabriel Sargsyan, and Mamikon Gharibyan have accumulated 5 points each.

The remaining three rounds will be crucial for both the leaders and the Armenian players striving to improve their standings. The European Championship remains a key platform for Armenian chess players to showcase their skills and compete at an international level.
