politicians

According to a TASS report citing a Kremlin source, former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his family have arrived in Moscow, where they have been granted asylum on humanitarian grounds. The move is seen as part of Russia’s broader efforts to address the Syrian crisis.

Simultaneously, Moscow has emphasized the necessity of resuming United Nations-led negotiations to stabilize the situation in Syria.

However, conflicting reports have surfaced regarding Assad’s whereabouts. Anas al-Abda, a member of the political committee of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, stated in an interview with TASS that there is no definitive information about Assad’s location. Al-Abda claimed that Assad sought refuge in several countries, including Russia, but was denied entry. He further suggested that Assad might be in an undisclosed African nation.

Amid these contradictory accounts, Bashar al-Assad’s exact location and status remain uncertain.
