WASHINGTON (Azat TV) – The U.S. House Oversight Committee on Monday released hours of video footage from closed-door depositions given last week by former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton regarding their ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The release provides the public with new insights into the Clintons’ explanations of their connections to Epstein, including Bill Clinton’s account of a controversial hot tub photo and the revelation that former Harvard President Larry Summers introduced him to Epstein.

The depositions, which took place separately, saw both Clintons deny any prior knowledge of Epstein’s heinous crimes, despite Bill Clinton’s inclusion in investigative files related to the sexual predator. The footage has garnered significant attention, particularly for dramatic moments during Hillary Clinton’s testimony and specific details provided by Bill Clinton.

Hillary Clinton’s Heated Testimony and Conspiracy Questions

During her deposition, Hillary Clinton nearly ended her testimony after Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert admitted to leaking a photo from inside the closed-door hearing. Clinton expressed her outrage, stating, “I’m done with this. If you guys are doing that, I am done. You can hold me in contempt from now until the cows come home.” Her lawyer condemned the leak as “unacceptable, unprofessional, and unfair,” especially given that Clinton had previously requested an open hearing, which the committee denied, according to BBC News.

The testimony also delved into unusual territory when Representative Boebert questioned Clinton about “Pizzagate,” a debunked conspiracy theory linking her to a pedophilia ring. Clinton unequivocally dismissed the theory as “totally made up” and “outrageous,” expressing disbelief that it was even being referenced. Another Republican lawmaker, Eric Burlison, asked Clinton about her past interest in declassifying UFO files, to which she responded positively, stating, “I think whatever can be disclosed should be disclosed,” particularly in light of recent directives from former President Donald Trump to prepare for such a release.

Bill Clinton’s Account of Epstein Ties and Hot Tub Photo

Former President Bill Clinton, in his opening remarks, firmly denied any knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities, stating he was merely a “brief acquaintance” whose relationship “ended years before his crimes came to light.” He also expressed concern for Epstein’s victims, hoping his involvement in the investigation would prevent future incidents, as reported by CNN.

A notable moment in his testimony involved questions about a photo released by the U.S. Justice Department, showing him in a hot tub with an individual whose face was redacted. Clinton claimed he was “almost sure” the photo was taken in Brunei at the end of a “long” Asia trip, recalling that the Sultan of Brunei had offered a hotel stay and suggested using the pool. “I sat in the hot tub for five minutes, or whatever it was, and I got up and went to bed, exhausted,” Clinton stated, denying any sexual activity and claiming he did not know the identity of the other person in the redacted photo. Other photos released by the Justice Department from the same hotel show Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s co-conspirator, in the pool area with other redacted individuals.

The Larry Summers Connection and Fallout

During his lengthy deposition, Bill Clinton revealed that it was former Harvard President Larry Summers who introduced him to Jeffrey Epstein in the early 2000s. According to Clinton, Summers, then a senior economic advisor, described Epstein as an “information hungry person” who had contributed “several million dollars” to brain research and wanted to discuss economics and politics, as detailed by The Crimson. Clinton testified that he subsequently took several trips on Epstein’s plane to Asia, Africa, and Northern Europe, as well as a domestic flight, maintaining he was unaware of Epstein’s crimes at the time.

This disclosure comes amidst significant fallout for Summers over his long-standing ties to Epstein. Last week, Summers announced his resignation from all academic and faculty appointments at Harvard, including his University Professorship. He had previously been banned from leading major economics associations, left multiple boards, and withdrew from teaching commitments following a November release of emails detailing his relationship with Epstein, which reportedly continued until the day before Epstein’s 2019 arrest.

Discussions with Donald Trump and Ghislaine Maxwell

Clinton also recounted a conversation with Donald Trump around 2002 or 2003 about Jeffrey Epstein, which took place at Trump’s golf course during a fundraiser. Trump reportedly told Clinton, “We were friends and then we had a falling out over a land deal.” Clinton stated that Trump “never said anything to me to make me think he was involved in anything improper” and did not put any “sexual spin on” the conversation.

When asked about Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, Bill Clinton acknowledged being “friendly” with her. He described her arrest as “really hard for me” but added, “it was terrible what she did and she should be punished.” He declined to comment on whether Trump should pardon or grant clemency to Maxwell, stating, “I don’t think I should comment on that.” While no direct messages between Clinton and Epstein have been found in Justice Department documents, emails between Maxwell and Clinton’s top aide, Doug Band, from 2002 to 2004, indicated a close relationship.

The public release of these extensive video testimonies provides an unprecedented look into the Clintons’ direct engagement with the House Oversight Committee regarding their connections to Jeffrey Epstein, offering specific details and denials that were previously only available in written transcripts or through limited leaks.
