New Digital System Centralizes Building Permits Across Armenia
Since January 1, 2025, the process of applying for and obtaining building permits in Armenia has transitioned entirely to an electronic format. All applications in Yerevan and the regions are now handled through the government’s unified platform, urban.e-gov.am. The initiative, launched by the Urban Development Committee, aims to modernize and standardize urban planning procedures across the country.
Step-by-Step Guidance Available Through Video Tutorial
To assist applicants, the Urban Development Committee has released an informational video explaining how to navigate the digital platform. The video provides instructions for both new development projects and those based on urban planning documents approved before 2025. This ensures accessibility regardless of a project’s timeline.
New Contact Lines for Legal and Technical Inquiries
Citizens with questions about the legal framework or submission requirements can now contact the Urban Development Committee via its new hotlines: 011-621-621 and 011-621-622. For technical issues related to the platform itself, users can reach VX Soft, the service provider, at 0-8000-2020 or 010-58-59-80.
Transparency and Efficiency Remain Core Objectives
The digitalization of the permit process is aligned with broader efforts to improve transparency and reduce inefficiencies in Armenia’s public administration. According to the Urban Development Committee, the new system is expected to minimize direct interactions with government offices and service providers, shorten processing times, and ensure equal access for applicants.
