Armenian Authorities Detain Individual for Child Pornography Offenses
The Armenian Investigative Committee has reported the detention of a man identified as M.B., who acquired and stored videos containing child pornography on his mobile device. The investigation is being conducted by the General Department for Investigating Particularly Important Cases, focusing on cybercrimes and crimes involving high technology.
Videos Distributed via Telegram Channel
According to official reports, M.B. offered the explicit videos to unknown individuals by publishing announcements in a Telegram communication channel. Interested users were then provided with the material through direct messaging. This activity led to the initiation of a public criminal prosecution under Article 300, Part 2 of Armenia’s Criminal Code, which addresses the production, distribution, or possession of pornographic materials or items.
Case Moves Forward in Judicial Process
Authorities have imposed detention as a preventive measure on the suspect. The criminal case has been forwarded to the supervising prosecutor with an accusatory conclusion, requesting approval for it to proceed to court for substantive examination.
