In November 2024, the sun’s elevation above the horizon in Armenia continues to decrease, resulting in a shorter daylight duration. The sunshine duration ranges from 120 to 160 hours during the month. The number of clear days significantly decreases (5-6 days).
The average monthly temperature in Armenia in November is 1.5°C. The first decade of November is relatively warm, while the average temperature in the third decade is negative, around -0.5°C. The highest average monthly temperature is recorded in Meghri at 9.5°C, while the lowest is in Ashotsk at -1.8°C.
Precipitation amounts are lower in November, averaging 41 mm. Higher precipitation is observed in the mountainous regions, while the Ararat valley receives the least amount. However, there have also been dry years with no precipitation recorded at all during November.
From the middle of November, a stable snow cover begins to form in the high mountainous areas. Throughout the republic, a high-pressure system develops, and a winter wind regime is established. Only in the mountain passes can the wind speed reach 20-30 m/s. The number of foggy days increases sharply, especially in the mountain passes, reaching up to 25 days.
