Program expansion now includes all forcibly displaced individuals

On April 10, 2025, the Armenian government decided to extend the 40,000 AMD monthly social support program for individuals forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. The program, which began in late 2024, was originally designed for specific vulnerable groups.

These included persons with disabilities (Group 1 and 2), those aged 63 and above, single parents receiving pensions or child benefits, and students aged over 18 enrolled in state-accredited educational institutions. The updated decision now expands this support to include all displaced individuals, regardless of vulnerability classification.

New targeted support program delayed

According to the government’s official justification, the extension is necessary because the development of revised, needs-based support programs for displaced families will require more time. Therefore, the implementation of the new aid model—based on vulnerability and socio-economic need—will be postponed for two months.

This temporary extension ensures continuity of assistance during the transition to the next phase of social support.
