DNA samples matching the profile of MMA fighter Conor McGregor were found on the body, underwear, and clothes of the woman accusing him of rape, according to evidence presented in the High Court. Forensic scientist Dr. Charlotte Murphy stated that the matter of whether the sexual intercourse was consensual is beyond her scientific remit.
Nikita Hand has filed a lawsuit against McGregor and James Lawrence, alleging they assaulted her in a Dublin hotel in December 2018. McGregor and Lawrence deny the allegations, asserting that any relations were consensual.
In addition to DNA analysis, the court also heard about the impacts on Hand’s ability to return to work and her claims for lost earnings due to the incident. Hand has reportedly struggled with anxiety since the alleged assault, limiting her prospects for rejoining her prior work.
