Electrifying Elegance: DS Automobiles Unveils the Bold 2025 DS No. 8 Flagship

2026 Kia EV9 GT

DS Automobiles has made a bold statement in the luxury electric vehicle market with the unveiling of its new flagship model, the 2025 DS No. 8. This vehicle represents a significant step forward for the brand, continuing its legacy of innovation by seamlessly blending fastback styling with the practicality of a crossover and the refined aesthetics of a luxury vehicle. The No. 8 is designed to appeal to discerning customers seeking a distinctive and high-performance electric driving experience.

The exterior design of the No. 8 immediately distinguishes it within the increasingly competitive EV landscape. The front fascia features variations depending on the trim level, with the top-tier model showcasing an illuminated badge and distinctive grille-like vertical lighting elements. These are complemented by sharp, angular LED headlights and signature fang-like daytime running lights (DRLs) that also function as turn signals. This intricate lighting design creates a striking and recognizable front profile. Furthermore, active flaps integrated into the front bumper enhance aerodynamic efficiency, working in conjunction with a subtle lip spoiler and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) radar.

The side profile of the No. 8 presents a unique silhouette, resembling an SUV coupe yet standing at a relatively low height of just 1.58 meters (62 inches), making it lower than many traditional crossovers. With a length of 4.82 meters (190 inches), the No. 8 rivals the BMW 5 Series in size, offering ample interior space. The vehicle’s sleek profile is further accentuated by a sloping roofline and liftgate, complemented by a range of alloy wheel options from 19 to 21 inches. At the rear, vertical LED turn signals, a wide trunk opening for convenient loading, and integrated cameras for both parking assistance and rearview display systems enhance both practicality and safety.

The interior of the DS No. 8 is designed to redefine the driver and passenger experience. A distinctive four-spoke X-shaped steering wheel encourages a comfortable 9-and-3 hand position, while the dashboard, adorned with Alcantara and aluminum accents, exudes a sense of modern luxury. Key interior features include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster providing essential driving information and a large 16-inch widescreen infotainment display with dedicated touch areas for climate control, integrating technology seamlessly into the cabin. High-mounted front bucket seats offer a commanding, SUV-like driving position, while the flat rear floor and split-folding bench seat ensure ample space and comfort for rear passengers, as well as providing flexible cargo-carrying options.

Built on Stellantis’ advanced STLA platform, the DS No. 8 offers both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations, powered by either one or two electric motors. Three distinct drivetrain options deliver power outputs of 230 PS (227 hp), 245 PS (242 hp), and a more powerful 350 PS (345 hp) for enhanced performance. All models are equipped with a 97.2 kWh battery pack supporting 160 kW fast charging, enabling a 20-80% recharge in just 27 minutes. This combination of performance and charging capability makes the No. 8 a strong competitor in the luxury EV market. The vehicle’s top speed is electronically limited to 190 kph (118 mph).

With its innovative design, luxurious interior appointments, and impressive electric performance figures, the 2025 DS No. 8 clearly exemplifies DS Automobiles’ commitment to originality, quality, and pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle design. This unique blend of fastback aesthetics, crossover practicality, and high-end luxury features positions the No. 8 as a compelling choice for customers seeking a truly distinctive and technologically advanced vehicle in the rapidly expanding EV market.
