The Armenian government is planning amendments to the public consultation process on the E-draft platform to ensure greater transparency and accessibility. The proposed changes have been published on the unified platform for legal acts and draft proposals, aiming to enhance public engagement in legislative processes.
The proposed amendments introduce several key measures: draft proposals published on the E-draft platform will now be accompanied by links to related legislative projects, ensuring a more comprehensive understanding of the legislative framework. Public consultation authorities will be required to keep project statuses updated and provide clear information on responsible officials.
Additionally, some legislative projects will be announced to the public even during the drafting phase, allowing earlier involvement of stakeholders. Both individuals and legal entities will be able to register on the E-draft platform, submit suggestions not only on entire proposals but also on specific provisions, and track their feedback.
Users will have the option to “like” or “dislike” responses to their suggestions, while the most active participants will earn points, reflected as a star rating. Moreover, proposal authors will be required to respond to unanswered public submissions, with platform administrators sending reminders to ensure accountability.
These updates seek to make the legislative process more participatory, giving the public a more structured role in shaping legal frameworks in Armenia.
