Public Opinion Context: e-Draft.am Voting and Possible Interpretations.
The available data regarding public opinion becomes even more interesting in light of the ongoing voting on e-Draft.am, where the program to support vulnerable families displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh is presented. The voting started on March 6 and will last until March 21. Currently, contradictory results have been recorded: 8 votes “In Favor” and 408 votes “Against.”
This imbalance in voting results raises numerous questions. It is difficult to definitively say what is causing such public reaction, but various interpretations are possible. In particular, the aspect that the voting, compared to the total number of registered voters, might be coordinated is being considered, but its purpose is still unclear. Is it directed against the people of Artsakh, in their favor, or is the goal to manipulate and create tension between the government and the residents of Artsakh?
In this context, the launch of this social support program by the government can be seen as a balanced step, addressing humanitarian issues on the one hand, and taking into account possible diverse interpretations of public opinion on the other hand. The final results of the e-Draft.am voting and its subsequent analysis will allow for a clearer understanding of public sentiment and the perception of this initiative.
