Agenda Announced for December 3 Extraordinary Session of Armenia’s Parliament

The agenda for the December 3 extraordinary session of Armenia’s National Assembly has been officially published. According to a government decision, the session will address a wide range of legislative initiatives, including economic, financial, healthcare, electoral, and environmental issues.

Key Items on the Agenda

  1. Ratification of International Loan Agreements:
    • The session will consider ratification of loan agreements between Armenia and the OPEC Fund for International Development, as well as the Asian Development Bank. These loans aim to support sustainable development and financial market reforms.
  2. Amendments to Electoral Legislation:
    • A series of amendments and additions to laws governing electoral processes, local self-governance, anti-corruption measures, and referendums will be discussed.
  3. Healthcare Reforms:
    • Proposed changes to laws regulating medical assistance and licensing of healthcare institutions will be presented.
  4. Environmental Protection and Lake Sevan:
    • Draft laws aimed at the protection and sustainable development of Lake Sevan will be reviewed.
  5. Amendments to the Tax Code:
    • Changes to the tax legislation aimed at improving tax policy will be part of the discussions.
  6. Regulations on Technical and Fire Safety:
    • Proposed updates to technical and fire safety regulations will also be on the agenda, focusing on strengthening safety standards.

The extraordinary session will commence 30 minutes after the conclusion of the regular session. Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan has been appointed as the government’s representative for the session. Alongside legislative initiatives, the session will also establish special procedural rules for its conduct.
