Frenkie de Jong Returns to Netherlands Squad, Depay Absent

De Jong

Midfielder Frenkie de Jong is back in the Netherlands squad to play in the upcoming Nations League matches against Hungary and Bosnia-Herzegovina. De Jong, who has recently recovered from an ankle injury, will play for the first time in 14 months.

De Jong missed out on the European Championships due to injury, a significant loss for the Dutch squad. Now, with his return, he aims to strengthen the team’s position in the league. However, Memphis Depay will be absent as he continues his career with Corinthians in Brazil.

The Netherlands is currently second in Group A3, trailing Germany by five points. The team needs to secure at least the second spot to advance to the quarter-finals next March.
