MAIDSTONE (Azat TV) – Hollywood star Johnny Depp has been spotted on location in Maidstone, Kent, as production begins for a new horror project. The actor spent two days filming at MuMu’s, a popular restaurant and bar in the town center, drawing significant crowds of onlookers and fans to the production site.
New Horror Project and Filming Schedule
Local reports indicate that the filming activity in Week Street is part of an upcoming horror feature expected to debut on Netflix this October. While specific details regarding the plot or his character remain under wraps, the presence of the Pirates of the Caribbean actor has energized the local area. This project adds to a busy 2026 slate for the actor, who is also slated to star as Scrooge in the upcoming remake Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, currently scheduled for release in November.
Expanding Presence in the European Art Scene
Parallel to his film work, Depp has expanded his footprint in the European art market. This week, the Queens galleries in Emmendingen, Germany, launched the actor’s first art exhibition in the country. The collection features a mix of limited-edition works and unique pieces, including portraits of notable figures such as Elizabeth Taylor, Al Pacino, and Keith Richards, as well as several self-portraits. Managing director Ted Bauer, who secured the exhibition after four years of networking, noted that demand for the pieces was so high that additional works were requested prior to the opening.
A Consistent Career Pivot
Depp’s transition into fine art has been a steady development since he first went public with his works in 2022. Following successful exhibitions in New York, London, and Tokyo, the German show marks a strategic move into the German-speaking region, supported by a long-term contract with local representatives. Despite his busy filming schedule in the UK, the actor’s influence in the art world continues to grow alongside his traditional cinematic output, bridging his roles as a musician, actor, and painter.
The simultaneous expansion into the international art market and high-profile genre film production highlights a calculated diversification of Depp’s professional portfolio, effectively decoupling his commercial viability from traditional studio reliance and cementing his status as a multi-disciplinary brand.
