President Marcos, accompanied by Education Secretary Sonny Angara and Governor Pamela Baricuatro, inspected the new modular units designed to withstand future climate-related disruptions.
Each LCS unit is built with durable steel structures, solar power capabilities, and integrated internet connectivity. According to the Department of Education, these units are part of a nationwide rollout of 1,134 facilities intended to house 51,000 students. The structures are engineered for rapid deployment, with a construction timeline of just two weeks, ensuring that local students in earthquake-affected zones can maintain consistent academic progress.

As the region prepares for increased international visibility, the Cebu City government is simultaneously finalizing a supplemental budget to support public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers. Mayor Nestor Archival confirmed that local authorities are coordinating with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to distribute fuel subsidies aimed at cushioning the impact of rising global oil prices on local transport costs.
This initiative complements a broader national effort, with the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Transportation preparing to distribute ₱5,000 fuel subsidies to over 30,000 drivers across Central Visayas.
