The Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 update, slated for release on August 8, 2025, is set to bring an action-packed mid-season refresh to the popular NetEase game. This update introduces a host of new content, including a new hero, fresh game modes, exclusive costumes, maps, and thematic events. The phased rollout will keep players engaged through September, culminating with the arrival of Season 4.
A New Hero Joins the Fray
One of the most anticipated additions in Season 3.5 is the arrival of Blade, a well-loved Marvel character known for his vampire-hunting prowess. Blade joins the roster as a Duelist hero with 350 health points. His gameplay is designed to focus on hit-and-run tactics, making him a unique choice for players who enjoy a more dynamic playstyle. Alongside his debut, Blade also receives a new costume named ‘Polarity Edge,’ available for purchase in the in-game store.
To complement Blade’s introduction, the Queen’s Codex event will also launch on August 8. Players can earn three new skins for Black Widow, The Thing, and Hela. While Black Widow and Hela’s skins are part of the premium tier, The Thing’s skin is free for all participants, encouraging more players to engage with the event.
Costumes and Visual Enhancements
Marvel Rivals has consistently impressed players with its wide variety of character skins, and Season 3.5 continues this trend. On August 15, two new costumes will be released: Polarity Bond for Cloak & Dagger and Polarity Soldier for Winter Soldier. These outfits feature a metallic aesthetic with gold and black color schemes, exuding a futuristic vibe.
The costume updates don’t stop there. On August 29, players can acquire a fiery Phoenix Chaos costume for Scarlet Witch, followed by the Wasteland Mech skin for Peni Parker on September 5. These additions promise to keep the visual appeal of the game fresh and engaging.
New Game Mode and Map
Arguably one of the most exciting features of the mid-season update is the introduction of the Resource Rumble game mode, which will become available on August 22. This mode will be played on a new map, Klyntar: Throne of Knull, inspired by Marvel’s symbiotic lore. The same day will also see the launch of the Ancient Powers Awaken event, where players can unlock skins for Venom, Doctor Strange, and Iron Fist.
Additionally, Iron Man fans will be thrilled to see the Extrembiote Armor costume make its debut. This unique outfit adds a symbiotic twist to the iconic character, offering a fresh take for long-time players.
A Look Ahead
Season 3.5 is designed to keep players engaged until September 12, when the update concludes and the game transitions into Season 4. The roadmap outlined by NetEase Games highlights their commitment to delivering a steady stream of fresh content, ensuring that Marvel Rivals remains a dynamic and evolving experience for its global player base.
From new heroes and game modes to visually stunning costumes, Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 offers something for every player. As the mid-season update unfolds, fans can look forward to an engaging and action-packed journey through the Marvel universe.
