The Neo leopard has once again been spotted in “Khosrov Forest” State Reserve, according to Armenia’s Ministry of Environment. Long-term monitoring data confirm that Neo has been residing in the reserve for the past seven years, marking the longest recorded continuous presence of a leopard in Armenia.
Over recent years, the conservation of the Caucasian leopard has become a priority in Armenia. The monitoring results indicate that Neo has successfully adapted to the environment and continues to inhabit the protected area. This presence highlights the effectiveness of conservation efforts within the reserve.
The Caucasian leopard is classified as an endangered species, and its continued existence in protected natural areas serves as a key indicator of environmental stability. Conservation experts hope that Neo’s presence will contribute to broader efforts to protect other species at risk of extinction in the region.
