OpenAI has announced two exciting new features for ChatGPT as part of its “12 Days of OpenAI” event: the introduction of Santa Mode and advanced video and screen-sharing capabilities. These updates aim to elevate user engagement during the holiday season and beyond, offering both festive charm and enhanced practical tools.
Santa Mode brings a holiday twist to ChatGPT, allowing users to interact with an AI-powered Santa Claus voice. This feature is accessible globally across all ChatGPT platforms, including mobile, web, and desktop apps. Users can activate Santa Mode by selecting the Santa voice in the settings or tapping the snowflake icon next to the prompt bar. Designed to make interactions more festive, Santa Mode will be available until early January 2025. Moreover, the first interaction with Santa resets the user’s advanced voice limit, enabling additional usage without impacting existing limits.
In addition to this holiday feature, OpenAI has rolled out advanced video and screen-sharing capabilities in the ChatGPT mobile app’s Advanced Voice Mode. Initially available for Team, Plus, and Pro users, this feature allows real-time video conversations and screen sharing with ChatGPT, enhancing its utility in professional and personal contexts. Wider availability is planned for early 2025. However, due to regulatory considerations, this feature is currently unavailable in the EU, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein.
These updates underscore OpenAI’s commitment to enriching ChatGPT’s functionalities. By combining festive features like Santa Mode with practical advancements such as video and screen sharing, OpenAI continues to innovate in the AI domain, catering to diverse user needs while maintaining a focus on engagement and usability.
