AFFTON (Azat TV) – St. Louis County police are engaged in an urgent search for 5-year-old Aleise Dawson after she was abducted early Monday morning during the theft of a vehicle in Affton, Missouri. While the stolen vehicle has been recovered, the child remains missing, prompting authorities to issue a statewide AMBER Alert.
Missing Child Investigation in Affton
The incident occurred around 8:00 a.m. on the 8900 block of New Hampshire Avenue. According to officials, the child was inside the vehicle when a suspect stole it. The guardian reportedly returned to the scene moments later to find both the car and the child gone. Law enforcement officers discovered the vehicle abandoned a short distance away at the Madaford Garden apartment complex, but Aleise was not found inside.
St. Louis County Police Public Appeal
St. Louis County police spokesperson Vera Clay stated during a press conference that authorities currently have no information regarding the child’s whereabouts or the identity of the individual who may have taken her. “We really have no idea where this child is or who they are with at this time, so we need the public to call 911 if you see anything,” Clay said. The department has committed to utilizing all available resources to locate the girl, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
Description and AMBER Alert Details
The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued the AMBER Alert shortly after 9:15 a.m. to mobilize public assistance. Aleise Dawson is described as a Black female, approximately 2-foot-6 and 60 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink “Flower Power” T-shirt and blue shorts, with her hair styled in four ponytails. Authorities are requesting that anyone with information contact 911 or the St. Louis County Police at 636-529-8210.
The recovery of the vehicle without the child suggests a high-stakes, time-sensitive scenario where the perpetrator may have transferred the child to another location, significantly complicating the search radius for law enforcement.
