Marvel Animation 2025: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Eyes of Wakanda and Marvel Zombies

Marvel Animation is set to deliver a powerful lineup of animated series on Disney+ in 2025, featuring Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Eyes of Wakanda, and Marvel Zombies. These three projects promise diverse stories and fresh perspectives within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Brad Winderbaum, Head of Marvel Television and Marvel Animation, emphasizes the dedication of the creative teams and the enthusiastic response from fans, even before the shows’ release.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (January 29, 2025)

This series, led by head writer Jeff Trammell, will explore Peter Parker’s journey to becoming a hero. Hudson Thames provides the voice for Peter. Set outside the main MCU timeline, the show will honor the character’s comic book origins while introducing new approaches. Colman Domingo voices Norman Osborn, a complex mentor figure for Peter. The series will also feature Chameleon, Scorpion, and other familiar and new characters like Speed Demon and Butane. The focus will be on the neighborhood and an ensemble cast, with well-defined arcs for characters like Peter, Nico, Lonnie, and Pearl.

Eyes of Wakanda (August 6, 2025)

This four-episode series will tell the stories of Wakandan warriors, the Hatut Zaraze, across different periods of history. They will undertake dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts stolen by Wakanda’s enemies. Showrunner Todd Harris highlights the symbolic importance of Wakanda and how animation allows for depicting diverse locations and eras without budgetary constraints. The voice cast includes Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, and others. Ryan Coogler, director of the Black Panther films, serves as an executive producer.

Marvel Zombies (October 3, 2025)

Inspired by the What If…? episode, this TV-MA-rated series will depict MCU heroes in a zombie apocalypse. Showrunner Bryan Andrews promises a darker, more intense experience. The voice cast includes MCU stars Awkwafina, David Harbour, Simu Liu, Elizabeth Olsen, Randall Park, Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfeld, Dominique Thorne, and Iman Vellani. Zombie Cap will also make an appearance, engaging in a significant confrontation. The series will explore themes of hope and despair within the context of a zombie outbreak.

These three series demonstrate Marvel’s commitment to expanding its animated universe on Disney+, offering a variety of genres and storytelling styles to engage a broad audience.
