State Security Service of Armenia Personnel Will Also Receive Compensation for Damage Caused to Life or Health

The Armenian government, during its February 6th session, amended the law “On Compensation for Damages Caused to the Life or Health of Servicemen During the Defense of the Republic of Armenia.” This amendment extends the provisions of the law to include servicemen of the State Security Service (SSS).

This decision represents a significant step towards improving the social security of servicemen. SSS personnel, who perform vital functions in ensuring the security of the state, will now benefit from the same protections as other service members in case of injury or loss of life while on duty.

The law “On Compensation for Damages Caused to the Life or Health of Servicemen During the Defense of the Republic of Armenia” establishes a specific system providing compensation for damages incurred by servicemen as a result of military actions. The law covers a range of situations in which servicemen or their family members are entitled to receive compensation.

This government decision is justified and represents an important demonstration of the state’s responsibility towards its servicemen. For SSS personnel, this serves as further assurance that their service is valued and appreciated by the state.

The adoption of this amendment will not result in any increase or decrease in state budget revenues or expenditures, indicating the feasibility of implementing this important social program without additional financial burden.
