On February 10, 2025, it was announced that Yerevan will soon have a transport management center. During a routine working meeting, officials reported that the construction of the center is in its final stage.

Key Updates on Yerevan’s Infrastructure and Public Services

  • Public Transport Compensation & Benefits:
Drivers of the “Yerevan Bus” company are now receiving night shift bonuses for work performed after 22:00. Additionally, they are provided with health insurance coverage of up to 5 million AMD per year. The hourly wage for “Hayger” bus drivers has increased from 1,050 AMD to 1,800 AMD as of January 1.
  • Healthcare Modernization:
The Arabkir Health Center has been completely renovated. Patients are now receiving medical services in modernized conditions, with upgraded equipment and new facilities.
  • Urban Green Spaces:
A new 2,500 square meter park near Saint Gregory the Illuminator Church has been opened for public use. The area includes fountains, a water basin, an LED lighting system, and seating areas for visitors.
  • Enhanced Security in Kindergartens:
Surveillance cameras are being installed in Yerevan’s municipal kindergartens to enhance security and oversight. The project aims to ensure better monitoring of preschool institutions.
  • Air Quality Improvement Plan:
Yerevan Municipality has developed a four-year plan to improve air quality. The initiative includes targeted actions, digital monitoring indicators, and regulatory measures to reduce pollution, considering both environmental and human factors.

These measures are presented as part of urban infrastructure development, but the question remains—should such programs be the priority, or should system-wide reforms come first to improve sectoral governance efficiency? Can individual initiatives deliver tangible results without comprehensive reforms, or should they be integrated into a broader system that first addresses fundamental management issues?
