Armenian Mouflon have been recorded in the territory of the “Zangezur” Biosphere Complex.
This is reported by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia. Armenian Mouflon (Latin: Ovis orientalis gmelini).
It is registered in the Red Book of Animals of the Republic of Armenia.
The species is included in the IUCN Red List (ver. 3.1) with the status “Vulnerable A2cde”. According to the IUCN Red List criteria, the subspecies is assessed as “Endangered”.
