The lower house of the Swiss Parliament discussed and adopted a resolution titled “Nagorno-Karabakh: Peace Conference” yesterday. The resolution was authored by Member of Parliament Erich von Tobel. Switzerland’s Foreign Minister, Ignazio Cassis, also participated in the discussion.
The resolution was approved with 96 votes in favor, 80 against, and 16 abstentions.
This decision marks a significant step in international efforts to establish peace in the region. The resolution is viewed as a call to support the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and to promote dialogue based on human rights and the principles of international law.
The voting results reflect the diversity of opinions within the Swiss Parliament on the matter; however, a majority supported the adoption of the resolution.
