The nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2024 have been announced, recognizing the standout players, coaches, and goalkeepers from men’s and women’s football over the past year.
For the first time, fans will play a pivotal role in determining the winners. Votes cast by supporters will carry equal weight alongside those of national team captains, coaches, and media representatives. Categories include The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Player, Best Men’s and Women’s Coaches, and Best Goalkeepers.
This year, FIFA has introduced the Marta Award to honor the best goal scored in women’s football, named after the legendary Brazilian player Marta. Additionally, the revamped FIFA Puskas Award will celebrate the most spectacular goal in men’s football.
Among the nominees for Best Men’s Player are stars like Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, and Jude Bellingham, while the Best Women’s Player list includes Aitana Bonmati, Salma Paralluelo, and Keira Walsh. In the coaching categories, Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti, and Emma Hayes lead the race for their respective teams’ accomplishments.
Another major innovation this year is fan participation in selecting the Best FIFA XI for men and women. Fans can pick their ideal teams from a list of nominated players, aligning with predefined tactical formations.
The 2024 edition highlights FIFA’s commitment to combining expert analysis with public opinion, ensuring a fair and inclusive selection process.
