Conor McGregor has made headlines once again by denying rumors of a fight with UFC champion Ilia Topuria. Instead, the Irish fighter revealed he is in preliminary talks to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India.
McGregor took to social media to clarify:
“The rumors of a fight with Topuria are false. I am in preliminary talks with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India.”
This announcement leaves McGregor’s UFC future uncertain, as the organization’s president, Dana White, stated that a return to the octagon isn’t expected before late 2025. McGregor still has two fights remaining under his UFC contract.
Meanwhile, Ilia Topuria, the reigning UFC champion, has expressed disinterest in fighting McGregor. According to Topuria, the Irish fighter’s time has passed, and his current status does not command respect, particularly given his recent scandals.
McGregor’s interest in exhibition fights comes as no surprise after witnessing the media success of Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson. However, this time McGregor appears to favor a bout with Logan Paul, who is a WWE star and occasional boxer, albeit not at his brother Jake’s competitive level.
