On December 24, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia will host the “Best in Sports of the Year” awards, an event aimed at recognizing Armenian athletes and coaches who have achieved significant success throughout the year. This initiative also honors those who have contributed to enhancing Armenia’s international recognition and promoting national values.
The winners will be determined based on a secret ballot conducted by accredited sports journalists, appointed by the ministry. Additionally, the winner of the “Audience Favorite” category will be selected through an online vote held on the Telegram platform, where each user can cast their vote only once.
The competition includes the following categories:
-Top 3 Athletes
-Best Female Athlete
-Best Athlete with Disabilities
-Best Team (team sports and chess)
-Best Young Athlete
-Return to Sports and/or Breakthrough of the Year
-Athlete Best Representing Armenia Internationally
-Best Coach
-Audience Favorite (via online voting)
Winners in each category will receive monetary prizes and certificates. The “Audience Favorite” winner will be awarded a commemorative gift and a certificate. No athlete can win in more than one category. In the event of a tie, the monetary prize will be equally divided among the winners.
This awards ceremony not only celebrates outstanding athletes and coaches but also underscores the role of sports in promoting Armenia’s global recognition and national values.
