Transforming Armenia’s Defense: Second Workshop Held

Transforming Armenia's Defense

From November 12 to 15, the National Defense Research University hosted the second workshop in the series titled “Transforming Armenia’s Defense Sector.” This event is part of Armenia’s efforts to implement deep reforms in the defense sector and strengthen international cooperation.

The workshop was attended by experts from the U.S. Department of Defense and State Department, as well as representatives from Armenia’s Ministry of Defense and General Staff.

One of the key themes discussed was the progress of Armenia’s military reforms amidst changing regional security dynamics. The participants addressed crucial issues, including the modernization of defense management systems, mitigation of corruption risks, and enhancing the combat readiness of the armed forces.

The concluding session was attended by Armenia’s First Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of continued military cooperation between Armenia and the United States and the value of international partnerships in the defense sector.

Addressing security challenges requires a systematic approach that includes not only integrating new technologies and knowledge but also ensuring transparency in strategic policymaking. Workshops like these provide a platform for mutual experience sharing, which can be a fundamental tool for improving the efficiency of defense management.
