On January 27, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin summoned Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia, Rashad Mustafaev, to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Concerns were expressed regarding a series of recent anti-Russian publications in Azerbaijani media, as well as a disinformation campaign targeting the Russian House in Baku. The Russian side highlighted the baseless nature of the accusations raised in these publications.
During the meeting, the Russian side emphasized the critical importance of maintaining relations between Russia and Azerbaijan in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. This approach is based on the Declaration signed at the highest level on February 22, 2022, serving the national interests of both states.
Additionally, the topic of the December 25, 2024, crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan was discussed. The importance of completing the official investigation and publishing its results to clarify all circumstances surrounding the tragedy was stressed.
