A Strategic Comeback

Nearly three years after filing for bankruptcy and closing its national footprint, Bed Bath & Beyond is re-entering the physical retail space. The company has announced the opening of 22 new co-branded locations, primarily in partnership with The Container Store, marking the first phase of a broader nationwide expansion strategy.

Marcus Lemonis, Executive Chairman and CEO, stated that the new format aims to solve the fragmented home-goods shopping experience. “For decades, customers have had to visit multiple retailers to complete a single home project,” Lemonis noted. By integrating home essentials, storage, and organization under one roof, the company intends to capture a more streamlined share of the consumer market.

The ‘Legendary Coupon Hunt’

To generate immediate foot traffic and capitalize on brand nostalgia, Bed Bath & Beyond has launched the “Legendary Coupon Hunt.” Running through July 13, 2026, the company is inviting customers to bring in any legacy 20% off coupons—regardless of age or condition—to participating Bed Bath & Beyond, The Container Store, and Kirkland’s Home locations.

Amy Sullivan, president of Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc., emphasized the emotional value of these coupons, noting that customers have kept them in memory boxes and cookbooks for years. Beyond the honor of the discount, every submitted coupon serves as an entry to win a $100,000 home transformation, which includes design and products from a collective of retailers including Cabinets To Go and Lumber Liquidators.

Market Viability

The current rollout includes major metropolitan areas such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Miami. The brand is now operating under the umbrella of Brand House Collective Inc. (formerly Kirkland’s Inc.). Industry analysts are watching to see if the hybrid “community-matched” store model—which aims to tailor inventory to local living styles—can effectively compete in a retail environment now dominated by digital-first home goods platforms.
