On December 20, at approximately 12:00 PM, an Azerbaijani soldier was injured in an anti-personnel mine explosion along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, near the Sadarak district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. According to a statement from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense, the injured soldier, Ziyad Ilgar Oglu Salmanov, was performing service and combat duties when the incident occurred.
The soldier received first aid on-site and was promptly evacuated to a military medical facility. The Ministry of Defense reported that his life is not in danger. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
