CALLUM Brings Jaguar C-X75 Concept to Life

The Jaguar C-X75 concept, long admired for its unfulfilled potential, has been brought to life by the design company CALLUM, co-founded by Ian Callum, the former Director of Design at Jaguar. This bespoke version of the C-X75 builds on the legacy of a model initially conceived in collaboration with Formula 1 team Williams and showcased in the James Bond film Spectre. Over a decade after its inception, CALLUM has reengineered the C-X75 into a road-ready masterpiece.

Ian Callum described the project as “the one that got away,” and his team has finally delivered the conclusion this iconic concept always deserved. Using car 001 as the foundation, CALLUM redesigned the C-X75 for individual road use, adding a new supercharged V8 drivetrain paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The car boasts dynamic versatility with a dual setup for regular driving and track performance. Activating the sporting mode enhances gear shifts, throttle response, and the exhaust note for an exhilarating driving experience.

The car’s aerodynamics have also been refined with an active aero package that increases downforce at speeds over 37 mph, improving stability. An air brake provides additional stopping power, while a hydraulic front lift suspension protects the bumper from damage in urban settings.

Inside, the C-X75 combines green and cream leather with a minimalist design. CALLUM chose to retain analogue dials for the speedometer and rev counter, adding a retro charm to its modern engineering. Controls are strategically placed above the center console in the roof, alongside a start/stop button. Advanced features like integrated rotary touchscreens and Apple CarPlay seamlessly merge technology with elegance.

CALLUM’s Head of Design, Aleck Jones, explained the interior vision:
“Sporting cars typically feature darker interiors, while comfort is often associated with lighter shades. We wanted to fuse those elements in a dynamic way to reflect the dual nature of this car.”

Engineering director Adam Donfrancesco shared the challenges of refining the stunt car into a modern supercar:
“Balancing refinement, NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness), and integrating features like premium audio while maintaining the raw essence of the car was formidable but thrilling. The results speak for themselves.”

CALLUM’s managing director, David Fairbairn, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation:
“Reengineering this one-off supercar, alongside projects like the CALLUM Vanquish 25 and the Prodrive P25, demonstrates our expertise in transforming visions into on-road realities.”

With the Jaguar C-X75 now reborn, CALLUM solidifies its position as a leader in bespoke automotive design, bridging the gap between concept dreams and driving perfection.
