Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll reached a significant career milestone on Friday night, tying the franchise record for career triples during a 9-5 victory over the Minnesota Twins. According to reports from the Associated Press, Carroll’s three-run triple in the eighth inning brought his career total to 52, matching the mark previously set by Stephen Drew.
Carroll’s performance was a major factor in Arizona’s offensive success throughout the game. Prior to the record-tying triple, he contributed an RBI single in the third inning and a double in the fifth. He finished the night just a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. The victory also saw contributions from teammates Ketel Marte, who hit a solo home run, and Tristan Gray, who added an RBI single.
While the offense thrived, the Diamondbacks faced early challenges on the mound after starting pitcher Michael Soroka left the game before the second inning due to posterior hip discomfort. Relief pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga secured the win, moving to 2-2 on the season, as Arizona utilized eight pitchers to close out the contest against the Twins.
