The swirling rumors around Alphonso Davies’ future have seemingly come to an end. Bayern Munich has officially announced that the team’s star left-back has extended his contract until 2030. This decision sees Davies rebuff interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid, who have repeatedly been linked with the player.
Bayern has already begun preparations for the 2025-26 season. With the transfer window closed, attention has turned to solidifying the squad for the upcoming year. A key priority has been renewing the contracts of players whose deals expire on June 30th.
Among these players is Alphonso Davies. Long pursued by Real Madrid, the dynamic left-back has finalized a new agreement with the Bavarian club after months of negotiations. David Ornstein initially reported the approximate date, just this week, and the length of the contract, which will now run until June 30, 2030—five years beyond his previous deal.
Davies joined Bayern Munich in January 2019 from the Vancouver Whitecaps. Since then, he has won five Bundesliga titles and the Champions League in 2020.
While several clubs, most notably Real Madrid, have approached the Canadian defender, he has ultimately chosen to continue his career with Bayern Munich.
