The “Hay-Art” Cultural Center has launched a 10-day art exhibition titled “Dialogue of Generations: Parajanov and Contemporaries,” organized by students of the Hakob Kojoyan Educational Complex to honor the 100th anniversary of Sergei Parajanov. This event reflects a significant cultural homage to one of the most innovative figures in world cinema, recognized as the founder of poetic cinema.

The exhibition combines artworks, discussions, and performances by students and teachers of the Hakob Kojoyan Educational Complex, alongside contributions from the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography, the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, and the Armenian State Pedagogical University. These activities aim to reinterpret Parajanov’s legacy, offering a platform for young talents to explore his artistic vision and contribute their own perspectives.

The event fosters intergenerational dialogue and creativity, as participants delve into Parajanov’s contributions to global art and cinema. It also serves as a platform for understanding how contemporary generations perceive and are inspired by his work. By integrating educational institutions and the broader cultural community, the exhibition reflects a comprehensive approach to cultural preservation and education.

From an academic perspective, this initiative underscores the importance of integrating arts education with cultural heritage. It promotes active engagement with historical figures like Parajanov, not only as a subject of study but as a source of inspiration for creative expression. The 10-day event is not only a tribute to Parajanov’s genius but also a testament to the enduring influence of his work on modern Armenian culture and beyond.
