As part of the celebrations marking Sergei Parajanov’s centennial, the “Parajanov 100” exhibition held at Armenia’s National Gallery transformed into an extraordinary celebration of art and fashion. Organized by the “Artuyt” company, this collection, featuring silk scarves and Haute Couture garments, drew deep inspiration from Parajanov’s unparalleled artistic legacy.
Parajanov’s works, including masterpieces like “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors” and “The Color of Pomegranates”, are renowned for their unique visual style. The “Artuyt” collection not only pays homage to this legacy but also reimagines it, blending the opulence of Renaissance aesthetics with the clean lines of modern minimalism.
The exhibition’s uniqueness lies in its immersive experience, transcending a traditional fashion display. It became a multidimensional showcase where fashion met cinematic and theatrical expressions. The garments and scarves presented reflected the colors, textures, and poetic depth of Parajanov’s collages, cinematic visuals, and artistic vision.
This showcase wasn’t confined to Armenia alone. It was previously displayed in Milan at the historic Bagatti Valsecchi Museum during Milan Fashion Week. The event also featured Parajanov’s short film “Hakob Hovnatanyan” alongside related animations and short films, adding further cultural depth to the exhibition.
