The European Union is advancing its efforts to promote energy efficiency in Armenia through a €10 million grant. This grant complements a €25 million loan agreement signed in November 2023 with EIB Global. The initiative aims to renovate over 100,000 square meters of public buildings in Yerevan, including 6 polyclinics and 32 kindergartens. Key measures include upgrading building insulation, replacing windows, installing energy-efficient boilers and solar water heaters, and implementing energy-saving lighting systems.

This project targets a dual objective: reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions while significantly enhancing the quality of life for Yerevan’s residents, particularly children, educators, patients, and healthcare workers. The initiative aligns with the EU’s “Global Gateway” strategy and its focus on “Green Yerevan,” highlighting the EU’s commitment to sustainable development in Armenia.
