GURUGRAM (Azat TV) – Hyundai Motor India has officially launched the 2026 Verna facelift, marking a strategic effort by the automaker to reinvigorate the competitive mid-size sedan segment. The updated vehicle, which arrives with over 25 enhancements, is priced between Rs. 10.98 lakh and Rs. 18.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Modern Design and Segment-Leading Dimensions

The 2026 model introduces a bolder aesthetic, characterized by a revised black chrome radiator grille and redesigned front and rear bumpers. The sedan maintains its status as one of the widest in its class, measuring 1,765 mm in width with a 2,670 mm wheelbase. Exterior updates include dual LED projector headlamps and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, complemented by two new color options: Classy Blue and Titan Grey Matte.

Advanced Safety and Technology Integration

A primary focus of the 2026 facelift is the integration of Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS. This suite provides 20 driver assistance features, including forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking. According to company specifications, the vehicle also features seven airbags, electronic stability control, and a built-in dashcam. Inside, the cabin has been modernized with dual 10.25-inch integrated screens and a Bose eight-speaker audio system, alongside connectivity powered by the Bluelink platform.

Performance and Powertrain Specifications

The Verna continues to offer two distinct petrol engine configurations. The 1.5-litre MPi engine is optimized for efficiency and paired with either a 6-speed manual or an IVT automatic transmission. For performance-oriented drivers, the 1.5-litre Turbo GDi engine delivers 160 PS and 253 Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). These performance options are further supported by drive mode selection and paddle shifters, catering to a broader demographic of younger buyers and professionals.

The launch of the Verna facelift signals a calculated pivot by Hyundai to defend market share in the sedan category by emphasizing premium tech-heavy features and high-performance powertrain options that distinguish the model from the growing field of crossover SUVs.
