Several roads in Armenia are currently closed or difficult to navigate due to icy conditions and challenging winter weather. The Rescue Service reports particularly severe situations in the Aragatsotn region, where the roads leading from the “Amberd” high-altitude meteorological station to Kari Lake and the Amberd Fortress are completely closed.

The Spitak bends remain challenging for truck navigation. Drivers are strongly advised to use winter tires to ensure safety in these hazardous conditions.

Icy patches are reported in the Vardenyats Pass, as well as in the regions of Artashat, Vedi, Aparan, Aragats, and several other areas, including the routes Tathev-Ltsen, Gorayk-Zanger, Yerevan-Sevan, Yerevan-Artashat, Noyemberyan-Ijevan, and Berd-Chambarak.

Lars Update
According to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia in Russia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is currently closed for trucks.

To ensure road safety in these challenging conditions, drivers are urged to check road conditions in advance and use vehicles equipped with winter tires.

The Rescue Service continues its efforts across all regions to restore traffic safety and minimize risks for all road users.
