SINGAPORE (Azat TV) – Melvin Lim, co-founder and chief executive of prominent Singaporean real estate agency PropertyLimBrothers, has had his name removed from the company’s official website and announced a temporary step back from leadership, following widely circulated allegations of an extramarital affair with a colleague. The move, confirmed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, comes as viral videos and a leaked internal message have prompted a significant leadership reshuffle within the highly visible firm.

The allegations, which began circulating online on Sunday, January 25, involved claims that Mr. Lim, 45, who is married with four children, was having an affair with Grayce Tan, the agency’s vice-president of strategy. Videos posted to social media platforms and Reddit purportedly showed Mr. Lim and Ms. Tan leaving an office unit together, with audible sounds emanating from within the room prior to their exit. One clip showed a man resembling Mr. Lim holding a packet of wet tissues as he exited the unit alone before the pair later departed together, Ms. Tan leaving first.

Following the rapid spread of the videos, Mr. Lim addressed the controversy in a text message purportedly sent to the “PLB team” on Monday, January 26. In the message, a screengrab of which was shared on Reddit, the sender admitted to making a “personal mistake” and “crossing boundaries” that should not have been crossed. “I take full responsibility for that, and I want to apologise sincerely for the disappointment and distraction this has caused the team,” the message read, as reported by AsiaOne.

Leadership Changes and Admissions

The internal communication further indicated that Mr. Lim would be taking time away for a few months “to focus on restoring and protecting” his family, stressing that he was “not avoiding accountability.” Simultaneously, the message highlighted changes to the team’s leadership to “protect the business” and its people. Co-founder Adrian Lim, 48, will continue to head the agency. The message also confirmed that Ms. Tan would be stepping down from her leadership position. Her LinkedIn account, which previously listed her as vice-president of strategy, has since been taken down, and her profile has been removed from PropertyLimBrothers’ website, much like Mr. Lim’s.

A check on Tuesday, January 27, revealed that both Mr. Lim’s and Ms. Tan’s Instagram accounts, which were previously public, had been set to private. While Mr. Lim’s profile has been delisted from the company’s official team section, his images remain visible in older marketing materials on the PropertyLimBrothers website.

Company Culture Under Scrutiny

The recent allegations have brought PropertyLimBrothers’ internal culture under renewed public scrutiny. Discussions on online forums have resurfaced previous anonymous reviews on Glassdoor, a popular employer review site. An anonymous review from October 13, 2025, accused the company of unfair promotion practices, suggesting that advancement was potentially based on “personal proximity to management rather than documented performance.” The reviewer cited the rapid promotion of an employee from intern to a level comparable to company bosses within three years as evidence.

Furthermore, another Glassdoor review from July 23, 2025, claimed there were complaints about an employee being “overly touchy with female colleagues” and raised accusations of favouritism within the firm, according to MustShareNews. These past claims, while not directly related to the current affair allegations, contribute to a broader narrative about the company’s internal environment now being discussed publicly.

Background on PropertyLimBrothers and Lim’s Public Persona

PropertyLimBrothers, co-founded by Melvin and Adrian Lim, has gained significant visibility in Singapore’s competitive real estate market. Melvin Lim, known for his on-camera presence in the company’s popular property tour videos, had previously been open about his Christian faith. In a 2021 interview with Christian online publication Salt & Light, which is no longer publicly accessible, he reportedly stated, “we are just managers. God is our boss,” and emphasised the company’s motto of practicing “real estate with integrity.” The current situation presents a stark contrast to the public image and values previously championed by the co-founder.

The swift, public nature of the allegations and the immediate, albeit temporary, leadership changes at PropertyLimBrothers underscore the increasing pressure on public figures and companies to demonstrate accountability, particularly when personal conduct appears to diverge from espoused corporate ethics and values in the hyper-connected digital landscape.
