As the private consortium responsible for the airport since September 2024, the NNIC is under pressure to clarify whether the failed structure was a legacy installation or part of recent renovations. “As the current airport operator, NNIC bears ultimate responsibility for this incident, especially in light of increased terminal and airport fees under the new management,” Ridon said. The lawmaker has demanded that the consortium provide full financial compensation to the seven injured individuals, who are currently reported to be in stable condition.
