The Rescue Service of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations has announced that some roads in the country are currently closed or difficult to pass.
In Aragatsotn Province, the road leading from the Amberd high-altitude meteorological station to Kari Lake is closed. The Vardenyats Pass is challenging for trucks with trailers and can only be used with snow chains.
Icy patches are reported on roads in the high-altitude areas of Syunik Province, as well as in Gegharkunik and Lori Provinces, the Aparan and Aragats regions, and the city of Artik. Drivers are advised to use winter tires for safe travel.
According to information received from Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Management Service and Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations Crisis Management Center in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to trucks.
Drivers are urged to remain cautious and follow the instructions provided by relevant authorities to ensure safe travel in these conditions.
