According to Azat TV the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan continues to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing Armenia’s border security through a new specialized training program. This morning, U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission David Allen inaugurated a five-day intensive course for Armenian law enforcement officers focusing on airport and border interdiction operations.
This latest initiative builds upon a strong foundation of U.S.-Armenian security cooperation. In recent years, the United States has provided substantial support to Armenia’s border management capabilities, including specialized equipment, technical expertise, and professional training programs worth millions of dollars.
The partnership has proven particularly valuable in combating drug trafficking and preventing smuggling operations. Through various USAID programs and State Department initiatives, the U.S. has consistently supported Armenia’s efforts to modernize its border control systems and align with international standards.
The ongoing training program represents another step in the long-standing security partnership between the two nations, which has included joint exercises, technology transfers, and capacity-building initiatives across multiple sectors of law enforcement and border security.
