KYIV (Azat TV) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Tuesday that Russia is actively sharing intelligence regarding Ukraine with Iran, leveraging its radio and electronic intelligence capabilities, as well as data from partners in the Middle East. Zelensky detailed these findings, citing a report from the head of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), Oleh Ivashchenko, and stated that Kyiv possesses irrefutable data to support these claims.
Russia-Iran Intelligence Sharing
In his briefing, Zelensky highlighted that Russia continues to provide intelligence information to the Iranian regime. This collaboration involves Russia’s own advanced radio and electronic intelligence assets, alongside data shared by allies in the Middle East. The intelligence exchange underscores a deepening strategic alignment between Moscow and Tehran, particularly concerning the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Assessing Frontline Dynamics and Russian Propaganda
Zelensky also addressed the GUR’s regular assessments of the situation on the front lines and internal Russian information concerning battlefield activity. He accused the Russian command of consistently attempting to inflate the achievements of its troops. According to Zelensky, these exaggerated reports are then utilized by the headquarters of the Russian occupation forces in their negotiation strategies.
Planned Drone Control Stations in Ukraine and Belarus
A significant revelation from Zelensky’s statement concerns Russia’s plans to expand its operational capabilities through the deployment of ground stations for controlling long-range drones. Ukraine has obtained clear information indicating that Russia intends to establish these stations within the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Furthermore, four such stations are planned for deployment in Belarus. Zelensky vowed that Ukraine would respond accordingly to these developments and has instructed Oleh Ivashchenko to share actionable intelligence with international partners and media representatives.
The revelations about Russia’s intelligence sharing with Iran and its plans for drone control stations in occupied territories and Belarus signal an escalation in asymmetrical warfare tactics and a broadening of geopolitical alliances aimed at undermining Ukraine’s defense and sovereignty.
