The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has confirmed that pressure from Baku led to the removal of Armenian director Sarine Hayrapetyan’s film “My Beloved Country” from the Oscars. The film, which provides a historical perspective on Artsakh, was initially selected for the “Best International Feature Film” category but was withdrawn, citing contradictions with Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
Jordan, which submitted the film, made the decision under Azerbaijani influence.
