A New Chapter in Pop
Pop artist Carly Rae Jepsen has officially announced her sixth studio album, Day and Night, a sprawling 24-track double LP set for release on September 18, 2026, via Interscope Records. This ambitious project marks a significant shift in format for the singer-songwriter, moving beyond the standard album structure to explore a dual-thematic narrative.
The Concept: Day vs. Night
According to the announcement, the record is divided into two distinct 12-song suites, each crafted to reflect a phase of the diurnal cycle. The ‘Day’ portion is reported to emphasize organic, live instrumentation infused with 1970s psychedelic pop elements. In contrast, the ‘Night’ side leans into an intense, synth-driven dance-pop sound. Jepsen describes the project as an attempt to capture a “blurred, dreamlike sense of time” where the boundaries between day and night dissolve.
Production and Premiere
Jepsen, who rose to global fame 15 years ago with the hit single “Call Me Maybe,” has collaborated on this project with a core team including Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert, and her partner, Cole M.G.N. The first single from the collection, titled “On Wires,” is scheduled for release this Friday, June 26. Fans will have the opportunity to hear the new material live during Jepsen’s headline set at New York’s All Things Go Festival on September 27, which will serve as her first performance of the year.
