ARCHITECTURE FOR HERITAGE

Clarivate has been selected by the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) to provide its unified library services and discovery platform. This selection marks a significant step in modernizing Croatia’s academic and research library system. The NSK, a leading cultural and research institution in Croatia serving as both the National Library and the main library for the University of Zagreb, will implement Clarivate’s Ex Libris Alma and Ex Libris Primo solutions.

This implementation will streamline the existing fragmented infrastructure of multiple library systems and data formats, creating a unified platform accessible to nine universities and 82 academic and research libraries across Croatia. This cloud-based subscription service, part of the e-Universities initiative, is funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026, highlighting the Croatian government’s commitment to modernizing its educational resources.

The selection of Clarivate by the NSK underscores the library’s pivotal role in preserving and promoting Croatia’s cultural and scientific heritage. The unified platform will not only improve access to information resources for researchers, scholars, and the public, but also facilitate collaboration and resource sharing among libraries nationwide. By streamlining workflows and integrating disparate systems, the new platform will enhance efficiency and optimize library operations, ultimately supporting learning and discovery for future generations. The leadership of the NSK in this national strategic project will ensure the successful implementation and widespread adoption of the Clarivate solutions, driving digital transformation within Croatia’s academic and research library landscape.
